Round One of the Southern Sweets Showdown rolls on with the 3-seeds versus the 14-seeds.

Today’s matchup comes from the Cakes, Puddings & Ice Cream Region, pitting the #3 Bread Pudding against #14 Apple Fritters.

It’s a busy time for most of us at RSM, so there’s no time to go into detail on these two competitors. However, here are a couple of recipes for you. First up, check out Paula Deen’s bread pudding recipe. (Bread pudding: bread or pudding? Discuss.)

And Southern Plate waxes nostalgic about apple fritters. They’re sweet, deep fried and taste of apples. What’s not to love?
