A new RSM look & a great launch!

First up, check out the cool, new logo, courtesy RSM’s own Jason Edwards. Jason did in a few hours what I couldn’t do in days: get the Real Southern Men concept across visually, without being heavy-handed. Jason’s also responsible for the new banner up top.

In the coming weeks, as the site grows and matures, the look will be changing as well. And if you notice it going from generic to unique, from crudely simple to simply sophisticated, you’ll know Jason is behind the work.

Secondly, we’d like to thank all of you, the first wave of what we hope will be a legion of loyal RSM readers, for giving us an incredible launch day. Having only promoted the site on our own personal Twitter and Facebook pages, we didn’t really know what to expect. Within the first 24 hours, we came in at around 1,000 views, a number that seemed like a dream yesterday afternoon.

Even better were all the thoughtful comments on article and the unanimously positive feedback from all of you.  I encourage all of you to click through the articles and read the comments. Let’s keep the conversation going!

We will try to be responsive and engage everyone as we go. After all, we’re certainly not experts on the topic of Southern-hood. We’ll be leaning on feedback, comments and suggestions from our readers to define the site as we go.

Our goal is to bring you new content every day, and we’ve already got several weeks’ worth of Li’l Bits in the can, just waiting to be posted.

Thanks again, everyone! And I hope you’ve buckled in for a fun ride.
