Meet the RSM: Wayne Franklin

RSM Wayne Franklin vainly attempts to look serious.

In our ongoing build-up to the April 9 launch of Real Southern Men, we continue to introduce you to the men who are part of the quest. Next up is RSM’s founder, writer and filmmaker Wayne Franklin.

Raised in Mobile and living in the Birmingham suburbs, Wayne’s family roots in Alabama date back to at least the middle 19th century. Beyond those generations of poor Alabama dirt farmers, Wayne’s heritage also includes a touch of Creek Indian and genuine Louisiana Cajun.

Despite a family history that has never been traced any farther north than Missouri, Wayne himself feels “about as Southern as New England clam chowder.” Hence, the creation of Real Southern Men.  Read more about Wayne’s background here.
