RSM Kris Wheeler and I (this is Wayne, by the way) have been burning the midnight oil, the noon oil, the 3 am oil and every other kind of oil to complete our film, Duke & The King. The first half of the Sweets Sixteen faced off last week, and here are the results:
Pies, Cobblers & Dumplings
#1 seed Pecan Pie moves on to the Elite Sweets Eight by knocking off personal favorite Key Lime Pie with 62.5% of the vote.
The 2-seed Peach Cobbler took out Chess Pie with 68.75% of the vote.
Cakes, Puddings & Ice Cream
The top seeds continue to roll as #1 seed Nanner Puddin’ easily dispatched #5 Chocolate Cake by a 75%-25% margin.
The lone upset of the round so far was #2 seed Southern Pound Cake being knocked off by #6 Red Velvet Cake. This is clearly a case of style over substance.
